Yacht Emily Morgan, named after the Yellow Rose of Texas, is a classic Bowman 57 sailing yacht. She was designed by Holman & Pye, who later designed many Oysters, and was built by Southampton Boat Services in Hampshire, UK.

The spacious cockpit is perfect for sipping a cold sundowner whilst watching the sunset. It has an opening table for magical lunches and dinners under the stars. The large bimini fends off the fiercest midday sun. Sun lovers are not forgotten, there’s plenty of comfy cushioned deck space for soaking up the sun when we reach the anchorage, just don’t forget to lash on factor 30!

Sail handling is managed with furling headsails, mainsail with lazy jacks and a mizzen sail aft.  When speed is of the essence, she also has a spinnaker and mizzen staysail. Emily Morgan is easy to handle with her flexible rig.

Guests can comfortably sit down to dinner either in the generous cockpit or the light and airy saloon. The saloon is spacious with seating around the table and armchairs to relax in. For entertainment, Emily Morgan has a sound system complemented by a comprehensive music library, a selection of games and a carefully chosen reading library.

Your hosts aboard Yacht Emily Morgan are British husband and wife team Anna and Bones Black. Together they have sailed over 95,000 miles aboard Emily Morgan, including 12 Atlantic crossings and a circumnavigation. They love showing guests the best of the Caribbean, including a few secret spots.

Both Anna and Bones have sailed from an incredibly young age. Anna’s first sailing experience was at 18 months old. Bones cut his teeth in the notorious Bristol Channel. They are both experienced sailing instructors equally happy cruising deserted islands or racing round the cans and love to impart their wealth of knowledge to a willing audience.

Bones has a passion for imparting his love of sailing to people of all ages. He ran a training centre for many years teaching sail and power and has a natural talent for entertaining children. Bones is an RYA/MCA commercially endorsed Offshore Yachtmaster. Having maintained his own boats from an early age and with a background in aviation, Bones turned his hand to successfully running his own boat repair business. This ensures that Emily Morgan is always very well maintained.

Anna has sailed both yachts and dinghies all her life, growing up on the Hamble River and gaining an RYA dinghy instructors’ qualification at the age of 18. She is an RYA/MCA commercially endorsed Ocean Yachtmaster and did her first Atlantic crossing in 2004. She inherited a love of cooking from her mother and has a culinary repertoire spanning the globe, with an emphasis on using fresh, local ingredients.

Emily Morgan is always equipped and provisioned with great attention to detail. Anna is an accomplished cook who is passionate about using the freshest local ingredients to produce healthy fare, or if you prefer, thoroughly naughty desserts.

Nothing is ever fixed on an Emily Morgan charter – we will endeavour to suit all tastes and any special dietary requirements you may have. Emily Morgan is all-inclusive, which means all meals and snacks, soft drinks, juices, local beer and spirits are included within moderation.

"We had a really lovely time. I know a little bit about “customer service” and can tell you Anna and Bones are naturals, it is clear they really enjoy looking after their guests. Nothing was too much trouble, and they really went out of their way to try to ensure we had the best possible holiday. Emily Morgan is a beautiful example of a classically designed sailing yacht. Extremely sturdy and seaworthy, as well as spacious and practical. She provides charterers with lots of space inside and out to lounge and relax, and a great platform to enjoy water sports and generally have fun on the water or ashore. She has been immaculately maintained by A&B, who are clearly very experienced sailors and engineers. We can’t recommend them highly enough."
